Small Groups

Ministry Teams

Women's Morning Bible Study

This group welcomes women looking for warm relationships with other women, relevant information about God and the Bible, and encouragement when facing the challenges of daily life. It meets each Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11 am.

Men's Bible Study

en of all ages are invited to join the Ridge Men’s Bible Study. Each Wednesday evening from 5:30pm to 6:30pm and/or Thursday morning from 7am to 8am, we meet in the parlor to read through the scriptures and journey through life with one another. 

UMW

Ridge Church has three different United Methodist Women’s Circles (groups), which are open to women of all ages and provide a source of spiritual growth, education, and social action. Circles meet in the homes of members or at the church, and always welcome new members.

Ridge Adult Fellowship Time (RAFT)

RAFT members are adults in the “Prime” of life who meet once a month, usually on the last Thursday of the month (but sometimes on Wednesday and sometimes at the beginning of the month, after all, we’re retired.)  Some of our past outings include taking the South Shore into Chicago to visit the Art Institute, lunch at “The Berghoff,” and a tour of the “Chapel in the Sky”, located within the First United Methodist Church. Events are planned a few months ahead and are listed in our online calendar. If you have any questions you can call the church office.

Book Group

Once a month, the Ridge Church Book Group holds a book discussion, usually in the church parlor, but occasionally offsite in homes or restaurants. Anyone who loves to read is welcome! Books vary in topic, and usually enlighten readers about their place in the world.

Golf League

Ridge Golf League meets at Wicker Park on Mondays starting in May. Play is nine holes, alternating between the front and back nine, week-to-week. This is a co-ed league, so all—men and women—are welcome to play!

Dartball League

Ridge Dartball League meets Mondays evenings starting in October. This is co-ed league is open to people of all ages and will travel to other churches in the area for competition.

Choir & Handbells

Groups are open to “whosoever will”, regardless of musical ability lack of musical ability! We’d love to have you come join us, as these are wonderful times of fellowship and an opportunity to enhance our services on Sunday mornings. Please see Rich Boban for further details or simply show up at one of the practice times and we’ll make great music together!

Ridge Ringers meets every Monday from 7:15pm to 8:15pm, and the Chancel Choir meets on Thursdays from 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Praise Band

Our contemporary praise band practices Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:00pm and is open to one and all. Please see Allan Evett for further details.

Soup Kitchen

Everyone is invited to join the Soup Kitchen team. Each Monday at 1:00pm, we meet in the kitchen to prepare food for the homeless.
