Primetimers are adults in the “Prime” of life who meet once a month, usually on the last Thursday of the month (but sometimes on Wednesday and sometimes at the beginning of the month, after all, we’re retired.) Some of our past outings include taking the South Shore into Chicago to visit the Art Institute, lunch at “The Berghoff,” and a tour of the “Chapel in the Sky”, located within the First United Methodist Church. We also shop at Macy’s during the Christmas season and enjoy lunch under the Christmas tree in the Walnut room. Events are planned a few months ahead and are listed in or online calendar. If you have any questions you can call the church office.
Ridge Church has three different United Methodist Women’s Circles (groups), which are open to women of all ages and provide a source of spiritual growth, education, and social action. Circles meet in the homes of members or at the church, and always welcome new members.
Once a month, the Ridge Church Book Group holds a book discussion, usually in the church parlor, but occasionally offsite in homes or restaurants. Anyone who loves to read is welcome! Books vary in topic, and usually enlighten readers about their place in the world.
